R.I.P. Mary Louise Kessler

Mary Louise Kessler, passed peacefully at home on 5-14-15 after an extended illness.  She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Rosario Cafaro and Stella Rubina Cafaro on August 11, 1932.   On August 29, 1964, she married her one true love, Raymond Lawrence Kessler, and life as she knew it changed forever.

Mary was an eternal optimist, and she managed to find the bright spot in any situation.  Through the years she worked outside the home for The Federal Government, as the owner of a family restaurant, and as a caretaker.  She may be best known in the community for her Famous Homemade Pizzelles, Italian Cookies flavored with Anise, Vanilla, and Love.  She made them for countless holidays and wedding cookie tables, and she also sold them to specialty markets throughout Pittsburgh.  All told, she’d made over a million of them through the years, and no one could eat just one!

Throughout her life, Mary’s love and devotion to her family was her top priority.  For that they will be eternally grateful.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Jean Skipper, her husband, Ken, and their son, Alan, in Vass, North Carolina; and by her daughter, Janet Robb, her husband, Terry, and their children, Kate and Ben, in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.  She is survived by her sisters Sara Graf, Stella Cafaro, and Rosella Cassidy, and by her brothers Dr. Ross Cafaro, Dr. Angelo Cafaro, Joseph Cafaro, and John Cafaro.   She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends who love her dearly.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Kessler, her brothers, Dr. Victor Cafaro and Dr. Frank Cafaro, Her Parents, and many other Loved Ones.

Thank you, Mom, for a life well lived.
Thank you for loving us.
We will miss you,
and carry you in our hearts forever.
